With the roster trim-down just hours away, I wanted to give my final take on the Bills 53-man roster. You can check out my first prediction and second prediction if you missed them. Some players helped their cause in the thrilling 28-27 greatest preseason comeback win of all-time the Bears, and some hurt their cause, so let’s dive in.
*Players listed in no particular order*
QB (3): Nathan Peterman, Josh Allen, AJ McCarron
- No cuts…on Saturday. Once the wave of FA QB’s come in, I believe the Bills will cut bait with AJ and replace him with a veteran to work with Peterman and Allen.
RB (4): LeSean McCoy, Chris Ivory, Marcus Murphy, Taiwan Jones
- I added Jones for ST puposes. This is a strong unit which had an excellent preseason.
FB (1): Patrick DiMarco
- No changes here
WR (6): Kelvin Benjamin, Zay Jones, Jeremy Kerley, Ray-Ray McCloud, Andre Holmes, Corey Coleman
- I’m torn on this one. I don’t think that Coleman should make the team, and I would not be surprised if he is cut, but I just do not see a player that he could be replaced with at this point.
TE (3): Charles Clay, Jason Croom, Logan Thomas
- The biggest cut of the day will be Nick O’Leary, in my opinion. Bad news for all you Jack Nicklaus fans out there.
OL (9): Dion Dawkins, Vlad Ducasse, Ryan Groy, John Miller, Jordan Mills, Russell Bodine, Wyatt Teller, Conor McDermott, De’Ondre Wesley
- My only change here is Marshall Newhouse getting cut. If he is able to make the team after his performance against the Bengals and Bears, then I will be absolutely stunned.
—
CB (6): Tre’Davious White, Vontae Davis, Taron Johnson, Phillip Gains, Lafayette Pitts, Breon Borders
- A nice game from Borders (including a great INT) sneaks him onto the roster.
S (4): Micah Hyde, Jordan Poyer, Siran Neal, Rafael Bush
- No changes here
LB (6): Lorenzo Alexander, Tremaine Edmunds, Matt Milano, Tanner Vallejo, Ramon Humber, Julian Stanford
- Added Julian Stanford to the unit
DE (4): Jerry Hughes, Trent Murphy, Eddie Yarbrough, Shaq Lawson
- No changes here
DT (4): Kyle Williams, Star Lotulelei, Harrison Phillips, Adolphus Washington
- No changes here
—
ST (3): Stephen Hauschka, Colton Schmitt, Reid Ferguson
- Despite John Ryan being brought in to compete with Schmitt, I have Schmitt holding onto the job, as he performed better on the field when given the chance.
What are your thoughts on my final 53? Let me know in the comments below! Go Bills!
I trust your knowledge here. How many games will this team win this year?
