Big trades within the division

The NFL Trade Deadline has finally approached us and It sure was interesting in the AFC East, with trades for all 4 teams.

Bills acquire WR Kelvin Benjamin in trade with Panthers

At 4:58PM EST, it all went down. The Carolina Panthers and the Buffalo Bills agreed on one of the biggest trades that went down. The Bills received star WR Kelvin Benjamin for a third and seventh round pick in next years draft.

Benjamin, 6’5″ and 245 lbs, some say he is overweight. But some say he is the same player that was drafted by our own Brandon Beane. He comes to a team where some of his former teammates landed. That includes Joe Webb, Leonard Johnsonand Mike Tolbert.

Benjamin is excited for a fresh start in Buffalo and when asked if he would play Thursday night, Beane said  “I don’t know,” Beane said. That’ll be up to Sean (McDermott) and coach (Rick) Dennison on where he would be. That would be a better question for them.” He will wear the number 13.

Dolphins trade RB Jay Ajayi to Eagles for fourth-round pick

This was a bit of surprise for pretty much everyone in the NFL. The Dolphins traded away their starting running back and get a pick in return. Ajani was reportedly mad at coaches and was getting frustrated with the offensive line.  The Eagles add another talented RB in the group including LeGarrette Blount.

Patriots deal QB Jimmy Garoppolo to 49ers for 2018 second-round pick

Another surprise comes from the New England Patriots. They traded away there replacement when Tom Brady eventually retires, but no. Goroppolo was traded to a QB needy 49ers squad that are looking for their 1st win.

In the past hours, the Patriots signed QB Brian Hoyer to a 3-year deal.

49ers trade CB Rashard Robinson to Jets, release QB Brian Hoyer

The 49ers were involved again in another trade. Giving away CB Rashard Robinson to the Jets in exchange for a 2018 fifth round pick. He can help the Jets short term wise. Morris Claiborne hasn’t practiced since injuring his left foot on Sunday, and Buster Skrine, who sat out last week with a concussion, remains in the league’s protocol.

Hoyer was originally in the deal, but was taken out. Luckily he was signed a few hours later by the Patriots.
