Josh Allen will start his 99th game for the Buffalo Bills on Monday Night in the Meadowlands. Throughout his first 99 games, Allen has never lost three games in a row. He will try to keep that streak going against the underwhelming Jets on Monday night.

Sunday marked just the 6th time in Allen’s career that he had lost back-to-back games (one of those times Allen played just five snaps in a regular season finale vs. the Jets). The Bills under Sean McDermott and Josh Allen have been remarkably good at not only winning, but also “flushing” the losses and not letting them snowball. Despite this, it already feels like the season is at a crossroads. The nearly perfect offensive performance against the Jaguars three weeks ago feels like three months ago, and the Bills hot start can come crashing down on them with a third straight loss this Monday. Nearly every aspect of their team will be under the microscope this week, something that Allen acknowledged in his postgame press conference.

If Allen is to avoid his first three game losing streak he will have to do it against an AFC East team that has given him some trouble in recent years. The Jets will be just as desperate for a win on Monday night, and rightfully so. A home loss on Monday night to drop the Jets to 2-4 will seemingly send the fans into more of a tailspin than they already are. After Monday night the Bills will either be 2 games (3 with the tiebreak) clear of the Jets, or behind him in the standings with the first three game losing streak of Josh Allen’s impressive career.
