With the Buffalo Bills dramatic win on Sunday night, in addition to locking up their 4th straight AFC East title, they have also locked up their 2024 opponents. The two conference crossover games will be the Kansas City Chiefs and the Baltimore Ravens. Their 17th game this year will be a road game, and it will be against the winners of the NFC North, the Detroit Lions. While there is still significant work to do in the 2023 season for the Buffalo Bills, Bills Mafia can begin to dream about weekend trips to a new batch of cities for next season.

Notes:

  • Goodbye Arrowhead Stadium. Kansas City Chiefs. For the first time since 2021, the Bills will not be flying to Arrowhead. I am pretty sure their plane can be set to auto-pilot, but unless they meet in the postseason, there will be no need to head to Kansas City next year. Instead, the Chiefs will come to Orchard Park and Patrick Mahomes will have to play in front of a full stadium of Bills fans for the first time in his career. That is, unless they meet in the Divisional Round, in which case it will be his second.
  • If I could apply an emoji to one of these gmaes it would be the eyeball emoji with the 49ers game on the home slate for next year. Both teams are a handful of wins away of that game being a potential Thursday night Super Bowl rematch game with the Bills raising a World Champions banner beforehand. We can dream, right?!?!
  • For fans of weekend getaways, Los Angeles and Seattle migth be the two best bets for Bills Mafia.
  • Thanksgiving rematch against the Lions? The Bills have played in 3 of the last 5 Thanksgivings. It would surprise me to have the Bills and Lions play again, for the 2nd time in 3 seasons, but from a ratings standpoint it would be a hit for the league.

The schedule will be out in late April or early May. Until then, the Bills have unfinished business in 2023.
