On Sunday Sean McDermott will reach a milestone that only two other men have reached before. That is, to coach the Buffalo Bills for 100 games. Only Marv Levy and Lou Saban have done it before.

While Sunday’s game alone is a feather in McDermott’s cap, he should have another reason to celebrate soon, as he is quickly closing in on Saban for 2nd place in total wins. A win on Sunday would put him 4 games behind the coach that delivered the franchise their two 2 AFL Championships.

As you can see, Sean McDermott actually has a higher winning percentage than Marv Levy with 83 fewer games coached. Currently, McDermott is on pace to become the winningest coach in Buffalo Bills history. He has a ways to go if he wants to catch the Hall of Fame coach, however. 83 games is about 5 seasons away. While the ultimate goal remains winning the one game that Levy could not, come Sunday night Sean McDermott can hang his hat on reaching a milestone that so few have reached in the team’s 64 year history.

  1. Awesome head coach! Buffalo is so lucky to have him so long. Many really good head coaches want to coach in bigger markets.
